Liquid Intelligent Technologies (Liquid), a business of Cassava Technologies, a global technology leader of African heritage, has announced a strategic partnership with Zambia National Commercial Bank (Zanaco). The partnership marks a significant step in enhancing access to mobile banking and connectivity services for Zambian consumers.
“Financial and digital inclusion are key drivers of economic growth and digital transformation. But more than that, they bring practical, everyday benefits to Zambians. By integrating Zanaco’s mobile banking into our Liquid Home stores, we’re making it easier for individuals and families to manage their finances, stay connected, and actively participate in the digital economy,” said Mark Townsend, Chief Executive Officer of Liquid Intelligent Technologies Zambia.
The agreement will see Zanaco agents stationed within Liquid Home stores in various shopping malls nationwide. Customers can access Liquid’s connectivity services and easily deposit or withdraw cash and top up their LTE internet accounts at the same time.
Speaking at the partnership launch at the bank’s headquarters, Prof Oliver Saasa, the Chairman of Zambia National Commercial Bank, said, “Recently, we launched the You First campaign—an initiative that underscores our promise to prioritize our customers, employees, and communities in everything we do. Today’s event is a concrete step towards putting our customers at the heart of our operations, ensuring they have access to vital financial services through multiple touchpoints.”
Zanaco will have a presence in Liquid Home stores in Cairo, East Park, Cosmopolitan, and Lewanika Malls in Lusaka, Zemart Mall in Ndola, and Mukuba Mall in Kitwe, with plans for future expansion.
This partnership with Zanaco reflects Liquid’s ongoing commitment to providing solutions that enhance connectivity and drive digital transformation across Zambia. It also aligns with Liquid’s support of the country’s National Digital Transformation Strategy. Other Liquid initiatives in this regard include the launch of public Wi-Fi in Livingstone, expansion of the GPON network, introduction of Azure Stack for cost-effective cloud solutions, and opening a Cyber Security Fusion Centre in 2023.
